Environmental Testing
Typically used to evaluate the effectiveness of a bearings seal, environmental testing involves both our Mud Slurry and Dust Box testing rigs. NES specializes in this extremely aggressive testing that ensures the bearing seal will perform to a level that meets or exceeds the demands of the application. Our environmental testing program consists of single source and A to B comparison testing to fit the needs of each individual client. The goal of testing is to determine the amount of time needed to reach a medium contamination level, classified by a visual and spin test inspection matrix. Once achieved, the client will be provided with valuable information needed to maintain bearing seal quality within the application.

Bearing Testing - Napoleon Engineering Services' complete testing facility includes over 35 test rigs with more than 100 test locations. NES has the capability to custom design a test rig to your specific application as well as the resources to test any ball or roller bearing including four and five ball. Our testing program focuses on three main aspects of testing; life (dynamic), environmental, and impact/static testing. The test that is performed is determined by the failure mode of the bearing in the application. With testing being the final stage of product qualification process it is vital that it be completed with the precision and expertise only NES can offer. Source Qualification Inspection -Source Qualification Inspection (SQI) is a powerful program that allows the client to qualify new suppliers through a series of extensive inspections. The unbiased SQI program is used by companies, in a variety of industries to determine the design intentions, manufacturing capabilities, and quality of workmanship between different suppliers. With the amount of offshore bearings used in today's applications it is vital that OEM's ensure they obtain repeat success in their application, to reduce the risk of bearing failure.
FAA-PMA Re-Engineering Programs-One of the most comprehensive inspection programs offered at Napoleon Engineering Services (NES) is reverse engineering of Typed Certified aircraft bearings for FAA Certification. Companies that manufacture or sell bearings were not integrated into the aircraft at the time it was Type Certified must obtain their own PMA from the FAA. NES has been providing technical bearing support and manufacturing data through reverse engineering of Type Certified bearings for over a decade on hundreds of ball and roller bearings.
